Covered Bridge Run/Walk to raise funds for cardiac monitors
ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. – The Covered Bridge 5K Run/3K Walk will be held Saturday, June 9, in Elizabethton.
The run begins at 8 a.m., and the walk begins at 8:15 a.m. Refreshments and awards will follow.
Proceeds will benefit the Sycamore Shoals Hospital Foundation and will be used to purchase cardiac monitors for the hospital’s Chest Pain Center. The monitors will allow for continuous cardiac monitoring and are considered the gold standard for chest pain patients.
Event T-shirts, up to size 2X, are included in the registration fee, and are guaranteed for everyone who pre-registers by June 1. The Run/Walk will start in downtown Elizabethton. Registration starts at 7 a.m. at the corner of Armed Forces Drive and Elk Avenue across from Picket Fence Antiques, and costs $20 if paid by June 1, and $25 after June 1 and day of race/walk.
“The Sycamore Shoals Hospital Foundation is excited about working with CenturyLink and putting on a great community event for a great cause,” said Dwayne Taylor, CEO of SSH.
