CrestPoint Health offers free quilt pattern
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Quilters are always looking for inspiration and new patterns, and now they can order a new one with local ties for free. Earlier this year, CrestPoint Health decided to create a quilt using the company’s “sunrise” logo. When people began to ask for copies of the pattern, CrestPoint decided to produce the pattern and offer it free to anyone who requests it.
“One of our team members had the idea of having a quilt designed with the CrestPoint logo to reflect the strong quilting tradition here in Northeast Tennessee,” said Sharon Dicorato, VP of Sales and Marketing for CrestPoint Health. “So many people in this area enjoy quilting so we thought this would be an awesome way to instill and create a heritage for CrestPoint that reflects our roots in Northeast Tennessee.”
The 40”x 60” lap quilt was designed by Amy Sands, senior graphic designer for CrestPoint Health who also is a quilter, quilt designer and former marketing director for a quilt shop. The Fellowship Quilters in Jonesborough, pieced and quilted three quilts in record time to use for a CrestPoint Health commercial which aired this fall.
The three quilts were shown at different stages of “age” or fading, to match up with the TV family in the commercial as they aged. Sands experimented with soaking the fabric in a water- bleach solution to find the right formula to create the desired aged look. The new quilt is used at the beginning of the commercial and the “oldest” one is at the end.
