JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Mountain States Medical Group Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery welcomes Dr. Jason MacRae Budde, MD, FACS, FACC, to its practice.
Dr. Budde attended medical school at Emory University in Atlanta, underwent his general surgical and thoracic surgical training at Emory, and is board-certified in both disciplines.
Dr. Budde comes to Johnson City from Lynchburg, Va., where he won central Virginia's "best bedside manner" award in Our Health magazine for 2010. There, Dr. Budde started programs in atrial fibrillation surgery, as well as procedures for chest deformities for younger patients, and thoracic sympathectomy for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). He also performs standard open-heart procedures, such as bypasses and valve procedures, as well as common lung and esophagus operations.
Dr. Budde comes to Johnson City with his wife, Dr. Laura Yount, an internist, and he is happy to be closer to family in Maryville, Tenn., and Asheville, N.C. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association, the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Cardiologists.
