KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Dr. Mack R. Mathews III, FACP, has joined Mountain States Medical Group to practice at Indian Path Medical Center (IPMC) as a hematologist/oncologist.
Dr. Mathews received his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his residencies in internal medicine at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, and Hahnemann University, Philadelphia. He completed a general surgery internship at Ohio State University Hospital, and fellowships in hematology/oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina, St. Louis University and Barnes Hospital at Washington University.
Dr. Mathews is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. He has participated in research as principal investigator for clinical trials and has special interest in multidisciplinary cancer care.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
Dr. Mathews serves as clinical assistant professor at East Tennessee State University's James H. Quillen College of Medicine.
