TNCPE recognizes high performing organizations committed to organizational excellence and continuous improvement

NASHVILLE, Tenn.— Dr. Lyle Ailshie, Director of the Kingsport City Schools, David Jones, Vice President and co-founder of Edamar, Inc., and Tamera Parsons, Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety for Mountain States Health Alliance, have been appointed to the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence (TNCPE) Panel of Judges. Every year, the Panel of Judges plays an integral role in the TNCPE Award Program, which recognizes local, regional and statewide organizations that demonstrate excellence in business operations and results.

As a judge, Dr. Ailshie, Jones and Parsons are responsible for validating the integrity of the TNCPE award process and determining recognition levels for each award applicant. The Panel of Judges is composed of experts selected from all industry sectors including business, manufacturing, education, health care, government and nonprofit. All judges have been Baldrige National Quality Award examiners or have served on the TNCPE Board of Examiners.  Jones and Parsons are currently serving as Alumni Examiners for the national Baldrige Program. Established in 1993 as a public-private partnership by Governor Ned McWherter, TNCPE strives to promote economic development by helping companies and organizations grow more competitive in today’s global marketplace. TNCPE is patterned after the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, the national standard for recognizing organizational excellence. More than 1,200 organizations have participated in and benefited from the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence Award Program, including those in the health care, service, manufacturing, nonprofit, educational and government sectors. Four Tennessee businesses—Caterpillar Financial  Services, Pal’s Sudden Service, Eastman Chemical Company and Federal Express—have been honored with the prestigious Baldrige National Quality Award and the TNCPE Excellence Award.
