Franklin Woods Community Hospital to host Save-A-Life Event Friday

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Franklin Woods Community Hospital (FWCH) will host the second annual Save-A-Life Campaign on Friday, March 11 beginning at 7 a.m. This health event is free and open to the public. Hosted by the Mountain States Health Alliance (MSHA) Team Member Advisory Group, Save-A-Life is focused on health and wellness efforts that improve the lives of individuals and allow individuals to reach out and improve the lives of others. Friday’s event will include:
Cardiac screenings and tours of the HeartCoach, 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Blood drive by Marsh Regional Blood Center, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Bone marrow registry recruitment drive by Appalachian Marrow Donor Program, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Information session on organ and tissue donation by Mountain Region Donor Services, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Dr. Andrew Poret, cardiovascular thoracic surgeon, will present a keynote lecture at 3 p.m.
Representatives will also be present from the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, MSHA Pet Therapy, MSHA Health Resources Center, American Diabetes Association, March of Dimes, Resolve Bariatric Weight Loss Program, Wings Air Rescue, and more.
