MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. - Morehead Associates, a company that specializes in employee opinion surveys, has given its Morehead Apex Workplace of Distinction Award to Johnson County Community Hospital and Medical Center Home Care Services of Northeast Tennessee.
Every other year, Mountain States Health Alliance, the parent company of JCCH and Medical Center Home Care Services, conducts a survey of all of its team members using Morehead Associates. Morehead's purpose is to help leaders make better decisions, improve employee retention and drive performance.
Morehead offers awards annually to the health care industry's top achievers. These award winners share a dedication to providing a rewarding, professional environment for their employees and physicians. The survey measures performance in three areas: team members, supervisors and the organization as a whole.
"It is a true honor to be selected as a workplace of distinction," said Lisa Heaton, vice president of Administration and Chief Nursing Officer for Johnson County Community Hospital. "I think it takes a true compliment of all of our team members and physicians that are committed to providing a high standard of care to this community and I think it shows too that the work processes that we have put into place and the work ethic that we have here truly stands out.

Tina Thomas, home health educator at Medical Center Home Care Services, attributes her organization's success in the survey to her team's multidisciplinary approach to patient care. The organization incorporates nursing, physical therapy, speech, occupational therapy, home health aids and medical social workers to improve quality of life for patients and truly bring loving care to health care.
