Merrywell joins MSHA as VP, chief information officer

Merrywell joins MSHA as VP, chief information officer Paul Merrywell, MSM, has accepted the position of vice president/chief information officer for Mountain States Health Alliance. Merrywell is currently the vice president of Information Services for the central region of Mercy Health System.

Merrywell received his master's degree in management from Webster University. He is Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) foundations-certified and an ITIL practitioner, configuration management database (CMDB).

Merrywell has been in the healthcare information technology (IT) sector for almost 10 years. As vice president of Information Services for Mercy, he was responsible for the strategic initiatives and alignment of their IT needs. He has been involved in successful implementations of multiple IT systems.

Merrywell received the Navy Achievement Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal. He and his wife Teena will be moving to Johnson City in February. He will begin his new role on Feb. 28.
