JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Marvin Eichorn, chief financial officer and senior vice president of Mountain States Health Alliance (MSHA) was recently named to the Becker's Hospital Review list of 110 Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know, which recognizes high-performing financial strategists within the hospital industry nationwide.
Eichorn has been a part of MSHA since the system's formation in 1998. During his tenure with MSHA, Eichorn has overseen the acquisition of five community hospitals in Southwest Virginia, ensuring that the system maintained enough capital to make infrastructural investments in those hospitals, including the recent construction of new facilities for Johnston Memorial Hospital and Smyth County Community Hospital. Eichorn has safeguarded the system's financial viability through a number of economic challenges and has provided visionary leadership for the formation of the region's first and only accountable care organization (ACO).
Prior to joining MSHA, Eichorn served as executive vice president at Covenant Health in Knoxville, Tenn. and as vice president and chief financial officer of the Windham Company in Pensacola, Fla. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of West Florida and a master's of business administration from Milligan College in Elizabethton, Tenn.
To compile the list of 110 CFOs to Know, the Becker's Hospital Review editorial team utilized several sources, including nominations, prior Becker's Hospital Review lists and input from industry experts. Judges look for men and women who provide strong leadership for renowned health care institutions in all financial matters while balancing quality patient care.
