Directions and Maps

These directions will take you to the main campus of
Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

From Johnson City Medical Center:

  • Take I-26 to Asheville, N.C.
  • Continue on I-26 and take I-240E.
  • Then take I-40E toward Statesville, N.C.
  • Take exit 188 to I-40 Bus. to downtown

From Eastbound Business 40:

  • Take the Cloverdale Avenue exit (Exit 4).
  • Continue straight through the intersection onto Medical Center Boulevard.
  • Visitor parking is on the left.

From Westbound Business 40

  • Take the Cloverdale Avenue exit (Exit 4A).
  • At the end of the exit ramp turn right.
  • At the first traffic light, turn left onto Medical
    Center Boulevard.
  • Visitor parking is on the left.

There are three parking garages available for patients and visitors - marked A, B and C on the map.

Patient/visitor parking decks are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Rates are posted at the entrance.

Vehicles are parked at the owner's risk, and management assumes no responsibility for loss due to fire, theft or collision. Always lock your vehicle. Emergency call stations, which provide instant communication to the Security Dispatch Center, are located on all levels of the facility.

Attendants on Duty:

  • Parking Deck A: 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (daily)
  • Parking Deck B: 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Parking Deck C: 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
    (Monday-Friday), 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. (weekends) 



Valet Parking

For $10 a day, a valet will park your car and retrieve it at the end of your visit. Valets are on duty from 6:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. For information, call 336-716-7093. After hours, call 336-716-3305.

Parking Passes

Long-term parking passes are available for patients and family members who spend extended periods of time at the Medical Center. The passes are purchased from the parking deck attendants, and the cost is $10. Once the pass is purchased, it will be valid for seven days from the day of purchase.

Visiting Hours

Visiting hours at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, except for Special Care units. Special Care units will have their own visiting hours - check with the nursing station for more details.

Two visitors per patient may visit in the patient's room. Exceptions to this policy may be indicated due to patient condition or request (i.e., no visitors, immediate family only, etc.). Please refer to the Guide to Guest Services (found in the patient's room) for additional information.

Visitors have lodging options if they will be in the area overnight.

The Hawthorne Inn & Conference Center - The Hawthorne Inn & Conference Center is owned and operated by Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. It is five minutes from the Medical Center and offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the Medical Center at your request.

Ronald McDonald House - Ronald McDonald House is a "home away from home" for families of pediatric inpatients and outpatients (18 and younger) from outside Forsyth County, N.C., receiving medical care in the area.

A $5 donation is requested per family per night for one room, which includes kitchen privileges. If this charge presents a hardship, guests may discuss other payment arrangements with the manager. No one is turned away because of inability to pay.
