Mountain States Health Alliance (MSHA) and BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee announced Friday that the two have reached a new agreement that will preserve access to care at MSHA facilities for all BlueCross members.
The new, four-year agreement becomes effective July 1, 2013; BlueCross members will have no gaps in their access to MSHA services. The agreement allows BlueCross members to continue to use services at all MSHA facilities on an in-network basis in the health plan's Network P, S and V. Medicare Advantage and BlueCare Tennessee products are not impacted by the agreement; access for those members will continue without interruption as well.
"MSHA is committed to meeting the needs of our patients and the communities we serve, and we remain focused on our triple aim of providing the highest quality care and the best patient experience at the lowest cost possible," said Dennis Vonderfecht, MSHA president and CEO. "To that end, we're very glad to be building on more than 60 years of good faith with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee by signing this new network agreement that will allow us to continue serving all BlueCross members with the high-quality, patient-centered care they expect from us."
“We've always had the utmost respect for Mountain States Health Alliance and quality of services they provide in the region and we are pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with Mountain States Health Alliance,” said Bill Gracey, president and CEO for BlueCross. “Both of our organizations understand it is important to our customers and communities to keep working together. By continuing to focus on our customers, we were able to reach an agreement that delivers strong value and serves the best interests for all involved over the next four years.”
