Pastoral Care
At Mountain States Health Alliance we value the patients' religious and spiritual health as a necessary component of their optimal health.
A chaplain, as pastoral care giver, crosses institutional, economic, cultural and ecclesiastical boundaries to present the God who demonstrates a desire for healing and wholeness in life. Because they have access to the entire community, pastoral care givers are in a unique position to embody a harmonious healing environment for those being served.
Among other things, pastoral care demonstrates a dedication to human dignity, appreciation for individual differences, a balance of acceptance and accountability, a dedication to justice and mercy, and an incarnation of love and hope.

The Pastoral Care Department is there to assist persons in crisis to use their spirituality to buttress their hope so as to "soar on wings as eagles, to run and not grow weary, to walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40:31)With the help of our volunteer chaplain associates we are pleased to offer pastoral care in all facilities of the MSHA, to our patients, their families, and staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We also have representatives of most major world religions available as needed to meet the religious needs of the increasing number of patients we have from diverse cultures. A list of these resources is distributed to all Mountain States Health Alliance facilities as we endeavor to provide appropriate spiritual support to all our patients and families.
