Centers of Excellence
At Mountain States Health Alliance, we recommend lifestyle changes and a wellness program as the first method of dealing with obesity. If clinically directed attempts at weight loss through such programs prove to have little success, those suffering from morbid obesity may then consider surgical options.
Behavioral Health Services of Mountain States Health Alliance serves children, adolescents and adults who are suffering from psychiatric disorders and/or chemical dependency. Woodridge Hospital, Johnson City; Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Elizabethton; and Clearview Psychiatric Center of Russell County Medical Center offer a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including individual, group and family therapy; medication management; coping skills; ECT, and anger management. The staff of the Respond program is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to make assessments and referrals to inpatient and outpatient services. Mountain States Behavioral Health also offers an Employee Assistance Program to assist employees with a wide variety of issues including marital and family conflict, alcohol and drug abuse, financial and legal assistance, depression and grief, and stress and anxiety.
Mountain States Cardiovascular Health is designed for patient convenience. Patients may park close to the entrance, and all testing and treatment is performed in the center.
Under the expert direction of cardiologists, radiologists, vascular and cardiothoracic surgeons, the center provides diagnostic testing and therapeutic treatments. Selected Team Members include cardiovascular nurses, radiologic and nuclear technologists, sonographers and cardiovascular technologists. Others on the team may be exercise physiologists, physical therapists, dietitians, social workers, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, case managers and pastoral care.
