An outdoor terrace balcony is located next to the Family Lounge. All Mountain States Health Alliance facilities are non-smoking facilities. No smoking is permitted on the terrace.
Family members can heat up a meal or grab a cup of coffee and a snack. Snacks donated by the community are available free of charge. All food stored in the communal refrigerator must be labeled with your last name and date. Unlabeled items will be thrown away.
For families of patients in our 3rd floor intensive care units, a Family Lounge is available next to the Family Kitchen. Please feel free to use this space for a personal break away from your child’s patient room. Shower facilities, as well as a computer with Internet access, are available in the Family Lounge area.
A washer and dryer are available for use by our patient families. Please refer to the washer and dryer guidelines posted in the Laundry Room, and ask one of our team members for help if you have any questions. The family washer requires specific detergent, which is provided. Also, please remember to clean the lint filter on the dryer with each dryer load. For infection control concerns, families of patients on isolation should not use the shared laundry facilities.
Breast Feeding Support
A private breastfeeding room is available in the NICU for use by mothers with infants in the NICU on the 3500 unit of JCMC. Mothers may also pump at their child’s bedside. If your infant is hospitalized in our Pediatric Unit or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and you would like breastfeeding support, please ask your nurse to contact a lactation consultant for assistance.
