Nursing services throughout the hospital vary with the individual needs of the patient and family members. However, a wide variety of nursing services are available: basic skilled nursing, specialty nursing, critical care nursing, pediatric nursing, home health nursing, school nursing, community health nursing, and surgical nursing. Other services provided by the Patient Care Services department include nursing in oncology, ambulatory, intensive care, emergency, dialysis, and other settings.

In an effort to promote a better understanding of health and wellness concerns, NCH offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient education program. Additionally, patients planning to undergo treatment, diagnostics, or procedures are also made aware of all relevant precautions, preparations and concerns.
Nutritional Services

The Nutrition Services department of Norton Community Hospital has two registered dietitians who provide medical nutrition therapy to both inpatients and outpatients. Our dietitians are dedicated to providing optimal nutrition to our patients. Outpatient counseling and education services are available with a physician's referral. The dietitians provide medical nutrition counseling and education to promote wellness and maintain nutritional health. Medical nutrition therapy is available for adults and children alike, providing them with resources on nutritional management of conditions such as diabetes, cardiac/heart health, hypertension (high blood pressure), weight management and other nutritional related conditions.
Visitation Hours
Visiting hours for patients on the medical and surgical units are from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. daily.
Pediatric Unit - Parents may visit children at any time One parent may stay overnight if desired. Other visitors must follow the hours stated above.
ICU/CCU - Visiting guidelines and times are as follows: Visiting will be limited to two (2) people at a time. No one under the age of 16 may visit. One parent may stay with a pediatric patient at all times. One responsible adult may stay overnight with any patient, however such adult will be asked to adhere to unit standard of allowing adequate rest for the patient and maintain low lighting and noise level as well as least disturbance to the patients and unit as possible.
Visitation times are: 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon, 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M., 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., 9:00 P.M. until 10:30 P.M.
Birthing Center - Visiting hours are posted out side the Birthing Center. When the baby is in the room, visitors will be limited to parents, grandparents and siblings.
Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit - General Visiting hours are from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Visiting prior to 5:00 P.M. will be determined by patient's therapy schedule.
