Visitor Information

Unless restricted by your doctor, visitors are welcomed during specified visiting hours.  However, patients may notify the nurses' station any time they do not want visitors.

Visitor Guidelines

  • Only 2 visitors at a time per patient are allowed
  • Shoes and proper attire are necessary
  • Medical devices or equipment should not be handled by visitors.
  • Anyone who is ill should not visit hospitalized patients.
  • Isolation rooms should not be entered without permission from the nurses' station.
  • Ensure the safety of children by not allowing them to visit and having an adult remain with them in the lobby if they are under 12 years old.
  • Immediate family members of patients scheduled for surgery may visit any time on the day of surgery.
  • Cell phones should not be used within the hospital.
  • This is a smoke-free facility.  Smoking is allowed only in designated areas outside the building.
  • Food items should not be given to patients unless permission is obtained from the patients' nurses.

Visiting Hour

Medical and Surgical Patients

Regular visiting hours are from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., seven days a week.

Intensive Care Unit Patients

Due to the special medical care required by patients in the Intensive Care Unit, visits are limited to specific thirty-minute time periods, seven days a week.  These times are:

10:00 - 10:30 a.m.
  2:00 -   2:30 p.m.
  6:00 -   6:30 p.m.
  9:00 -   9:30 p.m.

However, at any time, visitation may be limited due to the patient's condition or activity within the ICU.

The Clearview Center

Visitation at The Clearview Center is limited to the specific times listed below: 
Monday through Saturday:  5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
Sunday:  2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Clearview has certain rules regarding visitation that must be observed. Contact Clearview at 276-883-8380 for specific instructions.  In general, children are not allowed to visit at the Center; all visitors are asked to sign in when they arrive; all packages must be checks; there is no visitation in patient rooms; glass items, metal cans, cigarette lighters, matches, clothing with belts or strings, electrical items, weapons, sharp items (nail clippers, scissors, pocket knives) are strictly prohibited. 

Meals for Hospital Visitors

Visitors are invited to eat in the hospital cafeteria which is located on the first floor.  On Monday through Friday, visitors may purchase lunch from 12:15 - 1:30 p.m. and dinner from 5:15 - 6:00 p.m. 

Free coffee is available in the cafeteria from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Visitors can also purchase food items and drinks at the vending area located on the first floor. 

Gift Shop

Visitors can select from a wide variety of adult, child and baby gift items, cards, toys, candies, helium balloons at the Gift Shop that is located near the main lobby.  The shop is open on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.  On the week-ends, the volunteers at the Information Desk are glad to assist shoppers.
