The Smyth County Community Hospital medical staff is competent and community-oriented, with a strong base of primary care physicians who are well-established in the community and supportive of specialists. The hospital runs three operating rooms and a cystoscopy room. In addition to the hospital, Smyth County has a 109-bed intermediate care nursing facility on its campus. All are available with an excellent inpatient and outpatient surgery unit.
Our hospital is computer-oriented, with a full information systems network. We uses full digital radiology with a filmless PACS system with 40-inch plasma screens in the operating room suites. PACS (picture archiving and communication system) is available at computer stations at all of our nursing/dictation stations.
In addition to our therapy services, patients will find outstanding inpatient and outpatient physical, speech and occupational therapy. The hospital's Lifetime Wellness Center includes 5,000 square feet for these services to better meet the needs of patients and transition them to exercise on their own.
