President of Watauga Orthopaedics, Dr. Aiken's primary area of practice is Sports Medicine Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery (Total Joint Replacements). Dr. Aiken did a five-year residency at the University of Mississippi with the department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

His international interests carry him to Brazil, Russia, Siberia, Haiti and Romania through volunteer Medical Mission Work with the Southern Baptist Church. He is also a volunteer physician for Kanakuk/Kanakomo Christian Sports Camps in Branson, Missouri and is a consultant for Sports Injuries to area teams. He serves on the Quillen College of Medicine as a Preceptor for students and residents and serves as Team Physician for East Tennessee State University.
Dr. Aiken also is the Sports Medicine Physician for the Masters Water Skiing Tournament at Callaway Gardens and the World Ski Championships. Dr. Aiken also serves on the faculty of the University of Mississippi Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and is clinical preceptor for PGY 4 orthopaedic residents and serves as Medical Director of the Physician Assistant Fellowship Training Program at Watauga Orthopaedics.

Dr. Aiken, his wife Laura, and his two children Alan and Emily reside in Johnson City, TN. His interests include church activities, sports, woodworking, auto restoration, and water skiing.
