Our Approach to Nursing
At Mountain States Health Alliance our dedication to Patient-Centered Care enables us to bring loving care to health care. This commitment is seen at all levels of our organization. Caregivers, team members and administration work together to achieve this goal.
JCMC’s expansion of the ICU; aquariums in the emergency department at Indian Path Medical Center (IPMC) in Kingsport; new state-of-the-art beds; bedside registration to prevent delays in seeing doctors - are not the only Patient-Centered Care "items" in MSHA's ongoing projects to provide visible quality health care.
Individual projects at MSHA facilities consistent with the Patient-Centered Care philosophy include constant upgrades in equipment and state-of-the-art technology. The clinical documentation system Project:Safetyfirst has been enlisted to assure that caregivers record clear, correct and accurate patient information.

Opportunities for Professional Growth
Education is important to us. We help you go to school and develop as a professional through our continuing education and tuition reimbursement programs. Certification in the nurse's specialty is recognized by a 2 percent pay reward.
As your career progresses at Mountain States Health Alliance, you may be interested in transferring to another facility or department. We offer team members this option after six months in a position. This allows our nurses to experience new responsibilities and achieve new goals.
