Acute Special Care Unit

For special cases and procedures, we also have an acute special care unit—the only one of its kind in the region. It’s here that we treat advanced cases, acute leukemia patients and perform peripheral blood stem cell transplants—a new type of chemotherapy treatment where the patient’s own stem cells are removed and replanted into the patient receiving high doses of chemotherapy.

To provide these patients with the best of care, this unit is environmentally controlled and wired for various hi-tech monitoring devices.

Both inpatient oncology areas are staffed around the clock by highly skilled, oncology-certified nurses.
