 cath lab nurse

Thank you for allowing us to provide cardiac care for your loved one. From nurses and physicians to chaplains and volunteers, Indian Path Medical Center has the dedicated team members to support you and your loved one - mind, body and spirit. We welcome you to the hospital dedicated to caring for your loved one's heart.

To help you better understand what to expect, we have provided the following information:

  • After the admission process is complete, your loved one will be escorted to a room to be prepped for the procedure.

  • Every effort is made to ensure procedures are completed on schedule; however, please be aware that the cardiac cath lab receives patients from the emergency room and outlying areas who have suffered heart attacks. We are also unable to predict how long the procedure before your loved one's procedure will last.

  • Cath Lab/Interventional Holding team members recognize that family and visitor participation and involvement is an important part of patient care. Families and visitors of the patient's choice may stay in the room in Interventional Holding before and after the procedure. During the procedure you will be directed to the Surgery Waiting Room on the 1st floor. You will be called to come speak with the doctor when the procedure is complete.

  • Children must be at least 12 years old to visit.

  • In order to provide an environment where the best possible outcome for our patient can be achieved, visitation may be allowed less frequently based on patient condition or procedures being performed in the department. If you are asked to step out of the unit, you will be allowed to come back in as soon as possible.

  • You may eat in the Allspice Café located on the first floor, which is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4:30-7 p.m. Vending machines are available outside the Allspice Café. Please limit food and drinks to designated areas.

  • Indian Path Medical Center is a non-smoking facility. Tobacco use is not allowed on any MSHA property or on any adjacent sidewalk or street.

  • If your loved one has valuables, please keep them with you. The patient room does not have a place to secure valuables.

Please do not hesitate to let any team member know if you have additional questions or need anything during your stay. If you wish to speak with a member of our management team, please call 423-857-7800.
