Dr. Brahmbhatt completed his internal medicine residency as well as his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University and his fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Brahmbhatt is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and electrophysiology.

Dr. Brahmbhatt has special interests in cardiac catheterization, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, pacemakers, cardiac arrhythmias, clinical electrophysiology and complex ablation procedures.


Israel D. Garcia, MD, FACC, FASE, FASNC

Dr. Garcia is a 1993 magna cum laude graduate of the medical school at University of Santo Tomas. In 1996, he began his first year of internal medicine residency at East Tennessee State University, the same year he came to the United States. He was awarded a cardiology fellowship from ETSU's James H. Quillen College of Medicine in July 1999. In July 2001, he was named chief cardiology fellow in the cardiology fellowship program.

He enjoys teaching and served as an assistant professor in the department of internal medicine at the Quillen College of Medicine at ETSU until March 2006.

Dr. Hamati was born and raised in Jordan and continued his education in the United States. He received his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean. He performed his residency and fellowship in invasive cardiology and cardiovascular disease at East Tennessee State University's Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City. He has special interests in pacemakers, defibrillators, interventional cardiology and peripheral interventions. With new advances in cardiology technology, he completed training in CT angiography in diagnosing cardiovascular disease noninvasively.


Shobha R. Hiremagalur, MD, FACP, FACC, FSCAI

Dr. Hiremagalur is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. She performed her residency in internal medicine and received a fellowship in cardiology at the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. She has publications in medical journals and is actively involved in giving lectures to physicians and the community.

She has an additional residency in obstetrics and gynecology that helps her better evaluate women with cardiovascular disease. She enjoys all aspects of cardiology, including heart catheterizations, angioplasty and stent implantation, pacemaker technology, nuclear medicine, stress testing and echocardiography.


Ahmed A. Khan, MD, FCCP, FACC, FSCAI

Dr. Khan completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City and his fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. Dr. Khan has obtained fellowship status in the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Chest Physicians, the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions, and is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society. He is board-certified in interventional cardiology. Dr. Khan has special interests in coronary interventions, acute coronary syndromes, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, pacemakers, cardiac arrhythmias and clinical electrophysiology.
