Dr. Budde comes to Johnson City from Lynchburg, Va., where he started programs in atrial fibrillation surgery, as well as procedures for chest deformities for younger patients, and thoracic sympathectomy for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). He also performs standard open-heart procedures, such as bypasses and valve procedures, as well as common lung and esophagus operations. 

 
 

Anthony Palazzo, MD

Dr. Palazzo earned a medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. He completed a general surgery residency at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, La., and a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Upon completion of his cardiothoracic fellowship, Dr. Palazzo practiced in Shreveport in a private practice, and as an assistant professor of surgery at Louisiana State University. He was also involved with basic science research, investigating cardiac ischemia-reperfusion, and has had several articles published in various periodicals. Dr. Palazzo is a member of the American Medical Association, the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is board-certified in thoracic surgery.

 

H. Andrew Poret III, MD

Dr. Poret was born in the hospital his great-grandfather began in Villa Platte, La., a small rural township. He completed five years of general surgery at the University of Tennessee at Memphis. He joined the Navy Reserve Medical Corps in 1989 because of his personal commitment to serve his country. After completing a two-year fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery in 1996, he joined a leading private practice in Memphis. Six years later, he joined CVT Surgery, now known as Mountain States Medical Group Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Poret is a board-certified surgical specialist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.
