Dr. Counts received his medical degree from East Tennessee State University's Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City. He completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at ETSU in 2003 and was elected a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. His special interests include preventive cardiology, echocardiology, nuclear cardiology and congestive heart failure.

Dr. Forrest completed her medical residency and cardiology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. She is board-certified in cardiovascular medicine. Dr. Forrest completed an additional year of advanced echocardiography training at Duke University. She has a special interest in valvular heart disease, echocardiography, nuclear cardiac imaging and the treatment of heart disease in women.
