Supply Sources

For non-Medicare patients, Medicaid, private insurance and TennCare, supplies are not generally provided by the agency.  For wound care done by the patient or caregivers between nurse visits, the patient must arrange for his or her own supplies.  This requires a prescription from the physician listing all the necessary supplies.  Many insurance plans cover wound care supplies; if not covered, you will need to pay for your own supplies out of pocket.  Almost all insurance companies will cover all or most of the cost of colostomy supplies.  The following is a partial list of companies that may help you with your supply needs.  Check your local yellow pages for additional providers.
