The Neurodiagnostic Services department at Johnson City Medical Center provides services to neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients with neurological disorders, otologic pathology, muscle disorders, psychiatric disorders and any potential associated problems.

The lab is a full-service lab. All procedures are performed by qualified, credentialed, licensed and/or registered personnel.

Patients in the Epilepsy Unit should expect to stay for three to five days, continuously, during which video and audio EEG recording will be monitored. Patients will be seen daily by an epilepsy specialist.

Hours of Operation

Monday - Friday 
8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

May be reached after hours by
phone for emergency procedures.
All staff members are assigned beepers.

Procedures include:
  • Electroencephalogram - routine, bedside, sleep-deprived, electrocerebral inactivity, video EEG monitoring
  • Long-term video epilepsy monitoring
  • Evoked potentials - visual, brainstem auditory, somatosensory testing
  • Electrodiagnostic testing - electromyography, nerve conduction velocity studies
  • Intra-operative nerve monitoring
