Education:
Graduate of a school of nursing accredited by the State accrediting agency. ACLS, PALS, ATLS, PHTLS, BTLS, TNCC, or approved advanced trauma course.

Enroll in an EMT training course within 12 months of employment and obtain certification as EMT.

Obtain advanced nursing certification within 12 months of employment through one of the following programs:
  • Certified Emergency Nurse
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse
  • Institutional Critical Care Course
  • Certified Flight Nurse
License: Current license to practice nursing in the state of Tennessee and FAA Class II Medical Certificate.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of registered nursing experience with 2 years experience in critical care.

Skills: Knowledgeable of emergency/critical care nursing principles; proficient in various specialized skills.


Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited EMT-Paramedic training program. ACLS, PALS, ATLS, PHTLS, BTLS, or approved trauma course.

License: Tennessee certified EMT-P License and FAA Class II Medical Certificate.

Experience: Must have a minimum of 5 years pre-hospital emergency care as an EMT-P with at least 2 years experience as a paramedic in advanced life support service.

Skills: Performs advanced life support upon written or verbal orders from M.D. while functioning as a Flight Paramedic for WINGS.


Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited EMT training program.

License: Tennessee certified EMT License.

Experience: Must have a minimum of 2 years as an EMT.

Skills: Knowledgeable in radio procedures and medical terminology. Excellent voice communications capability. Good reasoning skills.


Education: Must have graduated from an accredited aviation school or academy.

License: Commercial Helicopter Certificate, Commercial Helicopter Instrument Certificate, and Class II Medical Certificate.

Experience: Minimum of 3000 hours total flight time with 2000 hours in helicopters.

Skills: Good reasoning skills. Final decision of a flight request is the sole judgement of the pilot and based on crew safety, weather conditions, and aircraft capabilities.


Air Frame and Power Plant License

Bell Helicopter experience preferred
