IPMC Women's Diagnostic Imaging Services
- Bone Density Test - DXA.
- Breast Ultrasound. A technique using sound waves that can show whether a breast lump is a fluid-filled cyst or a solid mass.
- Digital Mammography with CAD. Digital (computerized) mammography is similar to standard mammography in that X-rays are used to produce detailed images of the breast. Digital Mammography uses essentially the same mammography system as conventional mammography, but the system is equipped with a digital receptor and a computer instead of a film cassette.
- Stereotactic Biopsy. A method to obtain a sample of tissue from a suspicious area of the breast using a special type of needle instead of surgery. A computer is used to determine the path of the needle to obtain the best tissue sample.
- Ultrasound - General.
- Ultrasound Buided Biopsy.
The Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) provides Web-based access to all images performed within Mountain States Health Alliance imaging departments. This allows physicians to view the patient's images immediately. CDs of images will be available upon request.
