During menopause, the tissues in your vagina and urethra change. This caused these openings to lose elasticity, and you might have noticed a decrease in your ability to hold in your urine. Urine might leak during laughter, coughing, sneezing or lifting. This may become worse after menopause, or you may become acclimated to the change. Some women also experience fecal incontinence, which needs to be evaluated by your provider.
