Once
you realize that there are a gazillion different types of bodies
out there, then you can stop being so hard on yourself. You’ve
heard the terms “petite,” “pear-shaped,” “big-boned” and “chicken
legs,” haven’t you? Well, these are ways of describing
various body types. For some people, eating massive amounts of junk
food might have no visible effect on their flat tummies (although
their arteries might be clogged up!). For you, a few extra cupcakes
might make you feel bloated for three days. The thing is, everybody
is different. Instead of feeling envious of your skinny piggy friend,
or holding a grudge against your mom for giving you her “big-bones,” embrace
your body type. Because, after all is said and done, you can’t
change it. AND being healthy does not mean being skinny. If your
body type is not skinny, then don’t try to defy it. There’s
no right or wrong body type. The important thing is to make the most
of what you were born with, and to take care of your body and stay
healthy through exercise and nutrition. |
