Noninfectious vaginitis is the presence of many symptoms of vaginitis, including burning, itching and abnormal discharge, without an infection. This is usually caused by an allergic reaction to foreign agents such as douches, feminine sprays, spermicides, soaps, detergents and powders. This problem is easily treated by identifying the cause, and stopping use. If you experience these effects and your doctor tells you that you don’t have an infection, think about any changes you recently made in product use. Stop using that product to see if symptoms remain.
