Even
though you might be infertile now, you are always susceptible to
contracting sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). STDs are a reality,
especially if you are sexually active with more than one person.
Make sure that you are tested for STDs and that your partner is,
too. Besides abstaining from sexual activity, the only way to protect
yourself against STDs is a properly used latex condom. If you have
an STD, you may experience complications in your vaginal changes
during menopause. Talk to your provider for specific precautions
and care that you should know about.
