Moderate
exercise, defined by 30 minutes every day, can help to decrease
your risk of many diseases, strengthen your muscles and bones,
and improve
your overall sense of well-being. The Institute of Medicine of
the National Academy of Sciences has recommended 60 minutes of
physical
activity every day for weight management-focused exercise. Whatever
the exact “recommendations” for exercise are, the real
consideration is your personal body and goals. Every woman has a
different body that responds to exercise at its own pace. If you’re
not sure of your goals for exercise, consider the healthy benefits
of moderate physical activity:
- Lower blood pressure
- Stronger heart and cardiovascular system
- Reduced risk of heart
and cardiovascular disease
- Increased energy levels
- Improved muscle tone
- Improved muscle strength
- Reduced body fat
- Healthy weight
- Reduced stress
- Better sleep patterns
- Relaxation
